2nd Jab

"Yesterday I went to visit Dr Lim for my second jab and 2nd dose of rotavirus. Daddy successfully distracted me with the rattle that i didn't even realise that Dr Lim had finished with the jab :) I didn't shed a single tear, hee... But..... that was not so for the oral rotavirus, I cried :( Heh... but Dr Lim said that it was easier to give me the oral jab when I cried."
Darling weighs about 5.9 kg now, about 60.4 cm long. He didn't gain much weight since the last visit. Pd said probably cos he was sick. Sigh... abit sad, hope he will totally recover soon...

PS: we waited for 3 hours to see the Pd, reached home around 11 pm, woww....

Turning point :)

Sometimes if I leave Joian alone to sleep , he could. However I am not always so 'fortunate'. However today after giving Joian his (dunno how many times of) night feed, his eyes were still wide open and since he didn't make so much noise, I left him to sleep on his own. Few minutes later when I checked on him, he was sucking his little fingers and was lying on his right side, trying to turn on his tummy (He has been doing this for the past few days). So I watched him quietly. Slowly and steadily, he turned, ha... and he continued to suck his little fingers, but for only a few seconds. Then he started to make noise, so here come mummy me turning him on his back. I played with him for awhile and left him alone again. When I checked on him again, my darling had slept soundly :) Hee.. so here I am doing my blog :)

Back to work

After 3 months of leave, I started work today. Before I left Joian at my mum's place, I thought I wouldn't miss him alot, cos during the last week of June holidays, heh.. I didn't miss him so much. Now I know the reason, as I only went to school for remedial lessons and was back to Joian within short hours. However today was from 6 am plus to 6 pm plus, oh... 12 hours apart, no wonder... Like my colleague, Min-li, I called my mum to check on Joian whenever I was free today :) When I reached my mum's place in the evening, my mum was getting him ready for his bath and it took a while for Joian to smile at me :( I was a little worried that he wont feel close to me lo, ha.... but of cos I worried for nothing, he was happily smiling to hubby and I when we reached home :)

While I was out running some errands for my sis today, hubby took some pics of Joian on the U-Yoyo. He could sit on his own :0 I didn't know he could do that. Seems like we must always try something new now and then, so as to know what our darling is capable of doing ;)

tummy down, head up

Yesterday, hubby and I finally sat ourselves down to choose photos to send for developing. Only then did we really realise that our little darling has grown :) From a skinny little darling to a chubby little one :0 Our darling also likes to play lying on his tummy these few days. On one of the mornings, he was lying on his side with me, and he kept wanting to flip, of cos he couldn't do so, so I flipped him over, and he enjoyed lifting his head up to see the things around him :)

At Terminal 3

Last Sunday, we went to airport to send my sis and family off. They were going back to China after a week's stay here.
Our darling could now recognise people lo... He cried when others carried him, he even cried when my mum tried to carry him. Then we realised that he pooed, so that could be one reason why he cried. After changing and feeding him in the nursing room (the nursing room in the T3 is quite well equipped), he was willing to be carried :) However he didn't smile at anyone, so in all the pics below, he has almost the same "double chin" look :P

Hee... Joian actually could pay attention when hubby read to him the book which I borrowed from the library:) I quickly took a few shots of him listening to his daddy.

A day out with my little cousins

"Today mummy brought me to DownTown East to meet my cousins, aunties and uncles. Too bad Daddy worked night shift yesterday, so he had to sleep today. The adults were supposed to have a bowling session there, but the queue was so long that they decided to change to another venue. Maybe I was too excited to see my little cousins, I was basically awake :) Hence mummy only played one game of bowling, anyway she wasn't very good at playing, oops :P"

Sis's stay with us

During sis's stay in Singapore, she stayed with us for a few days. Our quiet house soon became very "lively" , especially with Aloysius running, jumping and making funny sounds :). During their stay, the only show we watched on TV was Barney (for Aloysius) or High School Musical (for Alicia).

Bonding session

Nowadays I will put Joian on my lap. I will talk and play with him. This has become our bonding session in the afternoons :) Sigh... when I go back to work, I will miss this bonding time :(

Shopping @ City Hall

"When mummy fed me in the nursing room, one auntie kept talking to mummy, so I couldn't concentrate on drinking my milk... Poor mummy, she had to keep soothing me, cos I was real cranky :( That auntie kept saying that I am very chubby and looks big for my age, and she kept comparing me to her grandson (who was also drinking in the same room).
After shopping at City Hall, we went to Compass Point. Daddy wanted to buy a handheld vacuum machine at Best. Then we had our dinner at Sakae Sushi. Well... I already had mine in the car while on the way to Compass Point :) I was asleep throughout the whole dinner, thus mummy could eat in peace yeah :)"

A day with Alicia

This afternoon I followed my sister to SingPost to settle some stuffs. After which, she had to send her son to a free lesson at Tanglin Mall. My niece (Alicia) didn't want to go, she chose to follow me to shop at Compass Point. So Joian, Alicia and myself spent our afternoon in the mall. I put Joian in the sarong sling, hence it was easy for me to shop and to look after Alicia. Alicia was very obedient and helpful. she helped me to carry the stuffs that i bought. We also went to the library and we read three books together. I also borrowed three books to read to Joian :) In the evening we went to my aunt place. I had to buy the LRT ticket for Alicia. Wow... it has been a long time since I last purchased a ticket, I spent at least 5 minutes at the machine, trying to figure how to buy, dumb hor??
I really enjoy taking Alicia out. It is really a rare chance for us to be out together and she will be going back to China on the coming Sunday... :(

Having fun :)

Today we went Parkway Parade shopping centre. Finally found a jacket for Joian :) at Mothercare. We also bought a soft rattle for him, err... but it's pink... Hubby said it's ok lo, still a child mah :P
When I fed Joian in the nursing room, a mother commented that Joian looks big for a 2 months plus baby, I took it as a compliment cos most of the times, people would say he looks small for his age.
"After daddy and mummy had a fruitful shopping spree, we went to Auntie Helen's house. My 2 Mai Pors were so anxious to see me, but I was very hungry, so the moment Mai Por carried me, I started to cry. Mummy quickly took over and quickly feed me :) I felt asleep after filling my tummy, and I didn't join my cousins, anyway I am still too young to play with them. Today is my first late night out :) I know daddy and mummy enjoyed themselves :) So was I, enjoyed sleeping :)"

Today sis's family came back from China. So we went mum's place for dinner. When Joian and I stepped into the house, we saw sis and my niece and nephew, Joian started crying. I guess it was due to the unfamilar voices. He cried very loudly, I couldn't soothe him. He only calmed down when hubby held him. Hubby sure has his way :) Throughout the nite, Joian was rather cranky. Sis managed to carry him awhile.

Holding on to things :)

Joian was playing on his gym mat, while I was blogging. Then when I turned to look at him, I saw him grabbing one of the toys :) heh... his first grab :)

A while later, I saw him grabbing and pulling one of the toys and trying to 'taste' it :)

Which is nicer?

Cool :)

I used to wonder why some parents style their sons' hair like David Beckham (like a rooster). Heh... now I prob know the reason. Yesterday after Joian's bath, while combing his hair, I decided to style his hair like David Beckham, cos that is the only style that can be done to a boy's hair at this age. Unlike a girl, mummy couldn't do much to a boy's hair.

Fingers licking good :)

Joian is getting more and more responsive each day. Every morning, really early in the morning at about 6 am, he would be awake and would smile, make some cute little noise to me. I feel so happy just to hear those chuckling sound, and all my tiredness would be gone :). Then we would laze in the bed for an hour, before I bathe him. He likes to suck his fingers now, and would be frustrated if he couldn't find his fingers. Love you, my darling.
