Baby Joian's first massage

Joian and I had our first massage today.
I felt really good during the massage, but not after the massage, cos the lady wrapped a long long piece of cloth round my abdomen. It was not the tightness, but the non-stop perspiration... However for the sake of my figure (hee..., not as if I had a very good one), I would have to bear with it, for another 6 more days... The lady was very confident to make my tummy flat. Let's really hope so...
When it was Joian's turn, it happened to be his milk time, so he cried and cried...
Joian looked so adorable during the massage session.

2nd visit to PD

Today we went to see the PD. Wow, Joian weighs 3.4kg today. Hmm... not too bad. PD asked me what I have done, I told her nothing :) Just 2 days ago, when we went to see the PD, he weighed 3.0kg.
Hubby said little Joian's face is getting rounder, just like me who has a rounder face :)

My Labour...

The day went by...
Around...
9.30am -Admitted to delivery suite, 1.5cm dilated (ONLY?!) Wondered how long do I have to wait?? Used breathing method to reduce pain.

12.30pm - Gynae came, still 1.5cm dilated, she broke the waterbag. I said "YES" to epidural :( thought I could try without it, but still...
2.40pm - Tried the laughing gas, oh... not too bad, haha, could get real high!! Should have used earlier...
3pm - Epidural was injected. Was very scared, luckily I had the laughing gas, it helped to minimise the fear.

6pm - 3cm dilated, was real hungry, but was not allowed to eat...
7pm - 7cm dilated (FINALLY!!), had gastric pain.
9pm - 9cm dilated, epidural started to wear off, started to feel a little pain. Nurse added another dosage.
12.15am - Finally it was my turn! Had been hearing other mums-to-be from other delivery suites. The nurses only said a few times of "1,2,3 & PUSH" and I could hear babies crying within 15 minutes (max). When it was my turn, baby popped out at 12.56am, so can you imagine how many times the nurses had said "1,2,3 & PUSH"?

First Sign of Labour!

At home
At about 3 am plus in the morning, I felt something wet on my shorts. At first I thought, hee, maybe it was just some urine leaking (urrgh...).
Baby was moving quite alot this morning, hence making me feel like going toilet more often, so I pulled myself out of the bed and went toilet. Just when I was going to settle myself on the toilet bowl, I felt something tickling down my thigh, oops, it was blood... I was panicked, quickly called out to hubby. He responded very fast, his first thought was that I broke my waterbag. He did not really hear me say that it was a show. When he knew that it was just a show, he was very calm, called the hospital, which transferred us to my gynae, who was also a very calm lady. As I felt no contractions, she said to see her in the morning.
So much for the drama, yet nothing happened :) We went back to sleep. It was then 4 am in the morning. Hubby could sleep, but not me. I kept going to the toilet, cos baby really moved alot this morning, first time ever. Maybe he was trying to tell me that he is ok :) I finally got to sleep at about 6.30 am. We woke up at 7.30 am, to get ready to see doc. I was hoping that baby may pop today :)

At the Clinic

After the check up, doc said that waterbag is still intact, and that I have dilated 1 cm. She asked if I felt any contractions, I said no, not sure... she must think that I am rather dumb... Doc told me that if I want to speed thing up, I could break my waterbag, however she did say that it was not necessary. She said I could wait for my contractions to come. I think so too.

She then put me on the CTG, to check for baby's heartbeats and my contractions. Some pictures of me doing CTG, and hubby waiting for me :)

The CTG results showed that I was in fact having contractions, so doc asked me again if I felt anything. My answer was still 'No', just feel like doing some big business in the toilet, hee...

She said maybe I could walk around the hospital and may want to go back in a while (labour ward??)

Well, we went home, to wait for the contractions... Time now is about 1.55 pm, still no pain...

Same birthday?!

This is my niece, Ashley.
Her birthday is on 29 April.
My EDD is on 25 April, Doc said I maybe 'overdue'...
Hmm... wonder will baby and Ashley end up having the birth date...

Btw, we went to buy some chinese herbs with my mum for my confinement. (10 April)
Ashley was very well-behaved, she waited patiently with hubby & my youngest sis, for us to finish shopping.

Eiffel Tower, Honeymoon 2006

We climbed all the way up the tower. (actually visitors are only allowed to climb up to level 2, then to take a lift to the last level) It was raining that day, hence it was really very cold while climbing up the stairs. It was fun, but I was scared of height, so the climb was a challenge to me.
Luckily, all visitors had to take the lift down the tower. If not, I might just get stucked at the stairs, with my shaking legs. Ascending the Eiffel tower was definitely more fun, more exciting, more meaningful than ascending the Tokyo tower.

A song composed by mummy to-be me

Baby baby, we love you.
You are baby number one (hee...)
Daddy, mummy dote on you.
You are baby number one.

Baby baby, we love you.
You are BABY NUMBER ONE..............

I made up this song, hee... that is the best I could think of :)
I sing to baby darling almost every night.
Asked hubby to sing, he said that the song is too mushy, ha...

Hahae.... sing to the tune of twinkle twinkle little stars.

New born clothes

I finally bought some newborn clothes for little darling. Initially I did not want to buy, as I have quite a lot of hand-me-downs. However when my dear friend looked at those clothes, she said they might be too big for my boy. So......... with the MotherCare voucher, hubby and I went to buy new ones.

3 out of the 7 cute little sleeveless

Hmm... I made some comparisons and realised that there really wasn't much difference... now baby darling has many newborn clothes lo :)

Can you tell the difference?

Naming our baby darling

We still cannot decide the name of our little darling...
We are thinking of Joian, a name that my sister mentioned, because it sounds like the Chinese name that we may give him.
It is really not easy to come out with a meaningful Chinese name.

How to pronounce Joian - Joe + Ian , have to say it fast.

Nice or not??

I am PREGNANT!!

After months (really months & months) of disappointment, perseverance and hardwork, our little darling was finally conceived! We were very, very happy.

My first trimester was not very smooth. I could not eat much, if I ate too much, I would vomit... That made me sad, because I thought I could eat as much as I could when pregnant. Whoever knows me know that I am a big eater, hee...

The moment I entered the second trimester, I really enjoy my prenancy. I could eat and eat, wow... and not to worry about getting fat hee... Friends said I look better now that I am pregnant. All thanks to my little darling, muacks!

I am now in the 38th week of third trimester. I went for check up today. Doc told us that I have gained about 14kg and our little darling weighs about 3.2kg. She said I did not gain much and most went to our little darling. She even said that our little darling is a solid boy, ha... We feel so assured that our darling is doing fine and absorbing the right stuffs :)

Happy Dad & Mum to-be

Hehe... looking @ our little darling
